EURL ECVAM Publishes Review of Alternative Test Methods

EURL ECVAM’s report, “Alternative methods for regulatory toxicology – a state-of-the-art review”, reviews the current scientific status of alternatives to animal testing, including in vitro methods and computational models. It evaluates available alternative test methods for a wide  range of endpoints, such as skin and eye irritation, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, and acute and chronic fish toxicity. The report describes their mechanisms of toxicological actions and their applicability ranges.
