Early-Career Scientist Award to Attend Workshop on Novel In Vitro Methods and AOP Approaches in Genetic Toxicology

Congratulations to the winners of PETA Science Consortium International’s early-career award to attend the Altertox Academy’s workshop, Novel In Vitro Methods and AOP Approaches in Genetic Toxicology. The workshop, held in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands from 6-7 October, 2022 and hosted by Toxys, included informative lectures by renowned experts and extensive hands-on work with novel in vitro methods.

Dr Mike Burgum has a PhD in genetic toxicology from Swansea University where he is also a senior post-doctoral member of the In Vitro Toxicology Group which emphasises the development of alternatives to animal testing. He is currently involved in the EU Horizon projects.

Linda Reilly is a PhD candidate in the In Vitro Toxicology Group at Swansea University. Her research aims to establish and validate a multi-endpoint testing platform for carcinogenicity in vitro.
