ESTIV Applied In Vitro Toxicology Training Course Award

Early-career scientists who are interested in non-animal testing are invited to apply for an award to attend the ESTIV Applied In Vitro Toxicology Training Course organised by the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV). This award, presented by PETA Science Consortium International, will give an early-career scientist the opportunity to learn about and gain hands-on experience with in vitro and in silico methods.

The course will be held at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology in Belvaux, Luxembourg, from 24-29 November 2024.

The deadline to apply for this award is 30 June 2024, and the winner will be notified in August.

The Award

  • The Science Consortium will choose one winner based on each eligible applicant’s short curriculum vitae (CV) and motivation letter. See the requirements below.
  • The Science Consortium will pay for the recipient’s registration fee and reimburse their expenses for travel to and from and accommodation at the training. See details below.

Eligibility

  • The award is open to postdoctoral fellows and scientists who have been out of school or a postdoctoral programme for less than 10 years.
  • The award is open to residents of any country. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law. By applying, you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to our contest terms and conditions and privacy policy.
  • In the event the course is cancelled or held virtually, the award will be cancelled or modified.

Award Recipient Requirements
The recipient must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Attend the entire course. Reimbursement is contingent upon this requirement.
  • Book their own travel and hotel accommodation to attend the course in Belvaux, Luxembourg. The Science Consortium will reimburse the winner’s expenses for accommodation (up to €700 for five nights) and economy-seating air or train fare (up to €200 within Europe and up to €1,200 from outside Europe; reimbursement amount varies depending on location). The Science Consortium will pay the registration fee of €850 in advance of the course. Receipts are required for travel and accommodation reimbursement and must be submitted to the Science Consortium by 6 December 2024. The Science Consortium will reimburse the winner within one month of receiving and approving their receipts.
  • Assume responsibility for all other expenses not noted above, including but not limited to meals, beverages, gratuities, optional excursions, rental car fees, personal expenses, travel insurance, and other incidentals.
  • Obtain and pay for any documents required to travel, including a passport if travelling internationally. There will be no reimbursement for travel expenses if documents related to travel are not received in time.
  • Submit a brief summary (500 words or fewer) of key learning experiences within one month of attending the course.
