PETA International Science Consortium Collaborator Procter & Gamble Ends Animal Tests for Personal Product Line

Procter & Gamble, a company that collaborates with the Science Consortium on replacing the use of animals in toxicity testing, announced that their iconic Herbal Essences brand will not be tested on animals. Procter & Gamble’s work with the Science Consortium includes co-authoring a paper describing non-animal approaches to assess respiratory toxicity and participating in a consortium that works with the US Food and Drug Administration to gain regulatory acceptance for non-animal tests.
